Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue will premiere on MGM+ on Sunday, March 2, 2025. The series will release one episode weekly through mid-April.
What is Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue About?
Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue follows a plane that crashes into the Mexican jungle. The bodies of the passengers are found and as the title says, is placed in a morgue. However, it is then revealed that only one of them passed away due to the crash. The rest were killed off afterwards and every one died in a unique way.
So, who killed them? That forms the main mystery of the series. The synopsis of the show says, “As the story unfolds in flashback, we meet the survivors as they fight against the heat, a shortage of supplies, the many dangers of the jungle…and each other. The setting becomes increasingly tense and claustrophobic as, one by one, they are dispatched with a series of shocks that bring us ever closer to the truth and – at the very end – a jaw-dropping reveal.”

Behind the Scenes
Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue was created by Anthony Horowitz, who wrote all six episodes of the show. Viviane Andereggen and Brian O'Malley directed the show. The executive producers are Jill Green and Eve Gutierrez for Eleventh Hour Films. Horowitz is also an executive producer.
Anthony Horowitz talked about what inspired the show. He revealed to the Boston Herald, “The inspiration was always an idea I had: What would happen if a plane crashed in the middle of nowhere and you had to survive with nine complete strangers? One of whom was a psychopath? For me that was the inspiration. Of course, in writing it now, I see there is an obvious echo of that extraordinary and brilliant Christie novel (And Then There Were None).”
