Suits LA Season 1 Episode 1: All the Major plot Twists Explained 

Suits LA isn’t quite what its predecessor was, but at the end of the first episode, the show manages to build a compelling story around its main character, Stephen Amell’s Ted Black. The premiere episode also features some interesting plot twists that will surely be further expanded upon as the season progresses. In this article, we will talk about the major plot twists.

Ted Black gets Betrayed by two of his Close Associates

Suits LA season 1 episode 1 begins with the revelation that Ted Black isn’t starting off his entertainment law firm, instead, it is already about 15 years old. Black Lane has garnered quite a positive reputation and has a list of famous clients. However, all of that success has gone to Ted’s head. 

He comes across as an arrogant man who treats others however he wants. Ted thinks that his words, no matter how scathing, won’t affect the listener. But he soon finds out that people, especially those who have worked with him for years and are close to him, are running out of patience with this attitude of his. 

So, Stuart Lane, the company's co-founder, orchestrates a plan to make Ted sign some documents. This lets him depart from the company the next day. But that isn’t all, Stuart wants to hurt Ted for all that he has said to him. So, he takes most of the employees and the roster of high-profile clients. 

With Lane gone, Ted relies on Rick Dodson, who he like a younger brother to him. However, Rick has strong morals and isn’t willing to bend them even though Ted is. This causes a fallout between the two which results in Rick leaving as well to join Stuart. 

Ted Black Hallucinates his Brother

Ted hates his father, played by Matt Letscher. So much so that when the old man is on his deathbed, all that Ted says to him is how much he despises him. The first episode hints that Ted’s father was responsible in some way for the death of his brother Eddie. It isn’t revealed what happened to him, but it looks like his father went to prison for it. 

After Ted leaves his father his good, he returns home and looks at a picture of him and Eddie. This is where it is revealed that he has been imagining his brother throughout the episode. 

How will Ted Black move Forward?

Episode 1 of Suits LA sets up the perfect uphill climb for Ted Black. He now has two adversaries- Stuart and Rick, who were once upon a time his close associates. Not only does he have to deal with them, but he will also have to earn back the clients he lost. 

More about his past life as a prosecutor will also be revealed, and we will see how it impacts his personal and professional life. The betrayal of Samantha, Ted’s ex, whose firm was supposed to merge with Black Lane, adds to his troubles. But it will surely make compelling TV for the viewers.
