911: Lone Star season 5 finale, which is also the series finale, began where the last episode left off- the cast braced for impact as a huge asteroid raced toward Austin, Texas. It did have an impact but there were minimum casualties. However, the nuclear reactor at a local university was affected. In this article, we will discuss what happened in the very last episode of the series.Â
Captain Owen Strand and the 126 with Tommy Vega went to the school where the nuclear reactor was affected. There, they had 10 minutes before the nuclear reactor would melt down. But if they could find the Scram button, then the reactor could be shut down. However, the one person who knew where it was, Dr. Chalmers, was missing.Â
So, they went on a quest to find him. He was almost unconscious on the floor of the hallway with a brain bleed. What he needed was to be in the O.R. But Tommy had nothing to lose. So, she asked Mateo to get her a drill. Nancy Gillian reminded her that if or when he died, she could get charged with manslaughter.Â
But Tommy didn’t care. After all, her health was on its last stand. The team managed to get to the reactor, and it was heating up as time went by. When Judd Ryder, Strand, Mateo, Paul Strickland, and Marjan Marwani went to the area, an explosion caused them to fall several stories.Â
Badly injured and with time running out, Strand instructed the team to make sure that nobody bled out as he went to the control room where the Scram button was. With the clock ticking, the team said their goodbyes. But with just a few seconds to go, Strand made it to the button and hit it.Â
Paramedics helped carry the gravely injured members. We then get to a five-month time jump that showed Strand's departure from Austin. He had become the Chief of Police in New York City.Â
Tommy is in remission and going back to work. Marjan is pregnant with her first baby with Joe, her husband. Mateo went to court for his assault charges which could get him deported, but an inspiring speech coupled with his heroics ensured that his citizenship application got fast-tracked.Â
On the other hand, TK Strand left 126 so that he and Carlos Reyes could adopt Jonah, TK’s half-brother. Judd was crowned the new 126 Captain, and his daughter visited him at his job. The series ended with Strand sitting in an office. He looked at his helmets, but before he could contemplate anything more, he was called to the job once again. Â
