Severance Season 2 Episode 3 is called, Who Is Alive, and it continues Mark Scout’s search for answers that he began in episode 1 and episode 2. He investigates Lumon Industries, and it takes him and Helly Riggs into a weird place within the company. In this article, we will discuss what happened in the latest episode of Apple TV+’s hit series.
In Severance season 2 episode 3, Mark and Helly begin their search for Ms. Casey and it takes them to a place called the “goat department.” As the name says, the room contains multiple goats on a hill present in the building. A department head (played by Gwendoline Christie) welcomes them, but she isn’t too sure of their visit.
The duo do try to overstay their welcome to find out what the place is, but it makes the department head call her colleagues. Mark and Helly get isolated and the data refiners show that they too can meet Casey’s fate. However, this isn’t the only weird thing that happens.
The department head asks them to show their bellies and the two do that. But the others are surprised as they don’t have pouches. This reaction seems to imply that there is something abnormal going on here.
Harmony Cobel has been driving around trying to make sense of her life and what to do next. The biggest decision for her is whether or not to accept Helena’s offer to go back to Lumon and become the head of an advisory council. On the other hand, Milchick gets recognized for his work as the severed floor supervisor.
Harmony, meanwhile, comes back and wants her old job back from Helena as she believes that Milchick doesn’t have what it takes to oversee the completion of the secret Cold Harbor project. Also, she thinks that she has done enough to be an indispensable part of the company.
Helena says that she is overestimating her importance. However, she agrees to have another discussion with her. But before that can happen, Harmony runs away from the company as if she fears for her life. It's possible that the Lumon Board, who seem to be a shadowy group that controls the company are dangerous and Cobel might know just how powerful they are. Maybe that's why she chooses to run away, even refusing to talk about any potential job offers.
As the day winds down, Mark meets Devon and tells her about the amount of time it takes to leave a vehicle and enter the severed floor. This timer is part of his plan to ask his innie- "Who is alive?" Mark thinks that if he keeps looking at this question for a long time, then it will still be on his retina even after he goes into the severed floor.
However, Asal Reghabi, a former Lumon surgeon who reintegrated Peter “Petey” Kilmer, dissuades him from doing that. He reveals that the company systems can erase anything present on the retina, even if it means making the person blind. That’s not all. The former surgeon also tells Mark’s outie that his wife, Gemma, is alive.
This propels Mark into doing anything possible to be with her again. Reghabi suggests reintegration and he agrees. As the procedure happens, Mark is able to see short glimpses into his innie’s life, confirming that the reintegration is successful.
