
The upcoming FX series, Alien: Earth, by Primetime Emmy-winning Noah Hawley is getting released this year and a poster as well as a teaser has been unveiled. The poster called XenoDome shows a Xenomorph and its huge head while the teaser hints at why the show is called Alien: Earth.
The new show is all set to give a new life to the Alien franchise! With Predator: Badlands and Predator: Killer of Killers coming soon, it looks like fans of the longstanding franchise are being spoiled for choice. Alien: Earth will be released on Disney+ and Hulu in mid-2025. At the time of writing, the exact release date isn't known.
The show's logline states, “When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat."
It further says: "As members of the crash recovery crew search for survivors among the wreckage, they encounter mysterious predatory life forms more terrifying than they could have ever imagined. With this new threat unlocked, the search crew must fight for survival and what they choose to do with this discovery could change planet Earth as they know it.”
The show is set two years before the events of the iconic 1979 Alien film. In an interview with Deadline, Noah Fawley also offered more information about the show, saying, “whatever the host is informs what the final creature is.” The director also revealed that he was able to bring some of his thoughts to the design of the creature.
As for the tone of the show, Fawley said, “There’s something about seeing a Xenomorph in the wilds of Earth… that’s truly chilling.”

The official teaser shows the POV of a Xenomorph getting out of its containment and running along a spacecraft’s corridors before ultimately slamming against a window as the emergency lights keep flickering red. The spacecraft looks like it's crashing toward Earth. Check it out below:
Another teaser was also released, which starts off like a Nat Geo ad showcasing the diversity of our planet in terms of its flora, fauna, and overall ecosystem. After that, it switches to an insect-like fetus growing within the planet. Check out the intriguing clip below:
Alien: Earth is written and directed by Noah Hawley. It is executive produced by Hawley, Scott, and Dana Gonzales, with Chris Lowenstein serving as a producer. Filming began in July 2023 but stopped in August due to the strikes. It picked back up in April 2024 and wrapped by July. A substantial portion was filmed in Thailand.
