No information was shared about the victim or if it was a test attack to check the efficacy of their tool.

The DDoSia project or Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack toolkit developed by the pro-Russia hacktivist group NoName057(16) is aimed at Ukraine and supporters of the nation in the Russia Ukraine war.

Created in 2022, the DDoSia project channel has over 10,000 users pointing towards the number of individuals looking for it. The developers of the DDoSia toolkit reworked it to improve security to evade detection and conceal the list of targets which earlier got transmitted from the C2 to the users.

A DDoS attack involves sending a flood of requests to halt or crash a system. The group primarily targets pro-Ukraine and NATO countries. They have been observed to be consistently updating the capability of the malware especially to work on multiple operating systems.

This is demonstrated in their latest comment that read, “Thank you for such a cool application! You inspire us and other subscribers not to stop there and find new ways to use it.”

The recent attack allegedly launched from a car points towards the success of their malicious actions and increased work left on the shoulders of the defenders of security. It is time, developers of technology work with security professionals foreseeing attacks exploiting their innovations.
