After 14 seasons, Blue Bloods is over, and it went out with a bang- a pregnancy, a secret marriage, a death, a shooting spree, and a new couple! But as every episode has ended, the Blue Bloods finale also ended with a Sunday family dinner.
Tom Selleck’s Frank Reagan says at the dinner table, “Our dinners are never about the food. You know, we've got a lot to be thankful for, and looking around this table, I gotta say, I couldn't be more proud, or grateful.” In this article, we will discuss what happened in the Blue Bloods finale.
Vanessa Ray’s officer Edit "Eddie" Janko-Reagan is distraught after Officer Luis Badillo, her partner, is shot dead in a shooting spree that also injures Mayor Peter Chase. But the episode doesn’t end with doom and gloom. In the Reagan dining room, Eddie then announces with her husband that she’s pregnant.
Erin and her ex-husband, Jack Boyle, decide to give marriage another go. However, they don’t make the announcement because they want Eddie to enjoy her moment. The couple agree to remarry at the City Hall.
Elsewhere, Danny, the widower with two kids, asks his partner Maria out for pizza on the insistence of his grandfather, Henry, who wants Danny to have someone to come home to. Maria agrees to the pizza, but she will have to wait to get a spot at the dinner table.
As for the shooting-spree suspect, Frank Reagan is able to successfully persuade Lorenzo Batista to reveal his son’s location. This leads to his arrest and Frank gives the Mayor that news, but not before placing the bullet beside him that almost killed him.
This is how Blue Bloods ended after almost 300 episodes and 14 seasons in the bag. The entire main cast of the show has remained for the entirety of its run.
Blue Bloods is available for streaming on Paramount+. Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers can watch the finale on-demand. Also, the finale episode is available on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after it airs.
