How to Access Inside Out 2 Online from Anywhere

You can stream Inside Out 2 on Disney+ in regions such as the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. However, if you’re traveling outside these areas, geo-restrictions may prevent you from accessing the movie. Using a high-speed VPN is a smart way to bypass these location barriers. A VPN helps you maintain access to content by masking your IP address, allowing you to stream as if you were still in your home country.

To ensure a smooth experience, it’s important to choose a VPN for streaming movies that delivers fast speeds, reliable connections, and robust security. We suggest using NordVPN for this. It includes a Double VPN feature for extra privacy, extensive global server coverage, and a 24/7 customer support team. NordVPN’s CyberSec feature adds another layer of protection by blocking malicious sites, while its dedicated IP address ensures a smooth and secure streaming experience across multiple platforms.

Plot

Inside Out 2 follows Riley, now a 13-year-old entering the emotional whirlwind of adolescence. The sequel picks up after the first movie’s heartwarming exploration of Riley’s childhood emotions, but this time, new emotions emerge as she navigates puberty. Riley’s old emotional crew—Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust—are suddenly met with new emotions like Anxiety, Embarrassment, Ennui, and Envy. These new additions challenge the group as they try to help Riley cope with more complex feelings.

The story begins with Riley preparing to attend a hockey camp with her friends, Grace and Bree. However, she learns that her friends won’t be returning to her school, adding stress to her already changing emotional world. Struggling to fit in with new classmates and perform well in hockey, Riley’s personality shifts as she confronts new experiences, relationships, and self-discovery.

As her internal Headquarters undergoes a metaphorical "demolition" to make room for these new emotions, Riley’s journey reflects the chaotic, transformative nature of adolescence. Joy and the original emotions grapple with Anxiety’s arrival, as well as the other new emotions, as they try to help Riley make sense of her evolving identity. Amy Poehler, who reprises her role as Joy, noted in an interview how the first movie hinted at this moment with the "puberty button." In the sequel, it gets pressed—launching Riley into a new chapter of emotional growth.

Official Trailer

Ahead of Inside Out 2's June 2024 release in theaters, Pixar dropped a final trailer offering subtle new hints about the film. The trailer highlights intercuts between Riley's parents' emotions and introduces a new emotion for the teenager: Nostalgia. It also reveals how Riley bottles up her feelings, with several of her familiar emotions shown trapped in literal bottles.

Pixar's first trailer for Inside Out 2 gives a peek into Riley's teenage years as she navigates new challenges with friendships and hobbies. Tony Hale and Liza Lapira voice Fear and Disgust, which play key roles. New emotions are introduced, enriching Riley's evolving emotional journey.

Where did Inside Out end?

Inside Out left off with 11-year-old Riley and her emotions navigating the challenges of moving to a new city. After a struggle between Joy and Sadness, the two emotions realize they need to work together to help Riley process her feelings. Sadness plays a crucial role in helping Riley express to her parents that she misses her old life, allowing her to cope with the move.

By the end, the emotions create a new "core memory" that helps restore Riley's personality. She successfully adjusts to her new life in San Francisco. The film closes with a new control panel being installed in Headquarters, hinting at another major phase in Riley's life—puberty—setting the stage for the sequel.

Behind the Scenes

Kelsey Mann, who previously served as the story supervisor for Onward and The Good Dinosaur, takes the helm as director for Inside Out two, stepping in for Pete Docter. Docter, the original film's director, has since moved into a new role at Pixar but remains involved creatively. Meg LeFauve, known for her work on The Good Dinosaur and Captain Marvel, penned the script alongside Dave Holstein. Mark Nielsen is producing the film, which is anticipated to be a major contender in the upcoming awards season.

Though Pete Docter wasn't initially working on sequel plans back in 2015, he left the door open, saying, "Never say never." Amy Poehler, who starred in the original film, praised Doctor's message about the emotional challenges of growing up and how our pursuit of happiness sometimes hinders real growth.

Inside Out 2 marks Mann’s directorial debut. Mann and LeFauve conceived the story, which promises new adventures for Riley and offers a fresh and engaging continuation of the beloved original.
