The 2024 Emmy Awards are coming up soon, and we now know that the FX series Shōgun has emerged as the front-runner with an impressive 25 nominations, including a nomination for best drama series. Not far behind is FX's The Bear with 23 nominations, setting a new record for a comedy series. Netflix leads the way in total nominations with an outstanding 107 nods across 35 programs. Following closely behind are FX with 93 nominations spanning nine programs, HBO with 91 nominations across 29 programs, and Apple TV+ with 72 nominations across 16 programs.
Here's everything we know so far about the 2024 Emmy Awards, including the release date, where you can watch it, the complete list of nominations, who's hosting and presenting, and more.
The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, and you can stream it the next day on Hulu.
If you're in the US, you can watch the Emmys on Hulu, but due to broadcasting agreements and distribution rights, this platform restricts content based on geographic location. This means that you'll need to take the help of a reliable VPN to bypass geo-blocks and access the awards show from anywhere, especially while traveling abroad.
If you're looking for the best VPN for media streaming, we recommend going with NordVPN. NordVPN effortlessly unblocks platforms and delivers lightning-fast speeds, DNS leak protection, and unlimited bandwidth. Using top-notch encryption algorithms, it defends you from security lapses and safeguards your online privacy. Furthermore, you can take advantage of its month-long money-back guarantee to test out the service without any risks.
This year's awards are open to all programs aired between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024.
Eugene Levy and Dan Levy will be hosting the 2024 Emmy Awards. In a joint statement, the father-son duo said, "For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theater was incentive enough. We’re thrilled to be able to raise a glass to this extraordinary season of television and can’t wait to spend the evening with you all."
