A brand new installment of Fire Country is on its way, and we have news about the cast, including big names who are joining the show this season. It picks up right where the last season left off.

The series follows Bode Donovan, played by Max Thieriot, a young convict who wants to redeem himself and reduce his prison sentence. He joins a prison release firefighting program in Northern California. This program sends him back to his hometown. In Fire Country season three, there will be a lot of drama, especially after the cliffhanger at Gabriela and Diego's wedding in season two.

Talking about the new season, Thieriot said, "I hope to do more stuff with floods. Those are obviously pretty massive and I grew up in an area that was not far from the Russian River, which would flood at times. The fire departments are intimately involved in dealing with that. I think would be fun to do if we can figure out how to do it in a big scale. As a director, it is definitely something I’ve been wanting to do. I’ve thought through a lot of different ways that we can accomplish some of those scenes without it getting too crazy expensive, but still have it feel like a big scale."

Here's everything we know so far about Fire Country season three. This article includes the release date, plot, cast details, and more. Keep reading as we will keep updating this space with new information as soon as it becomes available.

Release date & Where to Watch

Fire Country season three premieres on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS, and you can stream it the next day on Paramount+.

Plot

We will be following Bode's journey as he works towards becoming a full-time firefighter. This is not an easy task, and the show will have more storytelling opportunities now that Bode is out of jail. Showrunner Tia Napolitano said, "He can have a lot more fun. He can have some joy at Smokey's and go to Jake's apartment and do things that a normal 30-year-old man can do. It'll feel very refreshing and a breath of fresh air because Bode hasn't been able to do those things for basically our entire show."

Moreover, the show will continue to focus on Three Rock and its inmates, even though Bode isn't there anymore. "We will continue to see the inmates on calls. These programs are always sort of in question. What does it mean to work there? What are inmates getting to learn? We'll see their connection to 42. It'll still be part of the show's DNA, but we might tweak it a little bit," Napolitano said.

Cast

Newcomers for season three include:

Jared Padalecki
Jared Padalecki (Credit: The CW)

Padalecki is set to make guest appearances in three episodes. He will portray Camden, a Southern California firefighter with a fearless and independent attitude and a confident and casual surfer style. He quickly recognizes Bode's natural ability. There's a possibility that Padalecki's storyline could pave the way for him to lead his own separate spin-off, which is independent of the upcoming spin-off, Sheriff Country.

Trailer

We don't have an official trailer yet, but we will add it once it is released.

Behind the Scenes

The series is created and executive-produced by Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, and Thieriot. Showrunner Tia Napolitano executive produces with Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed of Jerry Bruckheimer Television.
