Shrinking is a comedy show about a therapist who is dealing with grief. He starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Instead of following the standard practices and ethics of his profession, he starts making big, dramatic changes in his clients' lives, as well as his own.

Now, the much-awaited second season is almost here, and we have an announcement trailer, release date, first-look images, and more. In an interview earlier this year, Ted McGinley, who plays the role of Derek in the show, said that the new season will have some shocking storylines. Furthermore, the new installment will feature Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein in a guest role, so we're excited about that as well.

Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+, said, "We have loved the engaging, touching and hilarious world of Shrinking since the beginning, and it has been wonderful to watch as audiences around the world continue to connect with these big-hearted characters," adding, "We can’t wait for viewers to experience what the cast and creative team have for Season 2."

So, without further ado, keep reading this article to learn everything we know so far about Shrinking season 2. We will keep you updated on new information as and when it becomes available. Check it out.

Release date & Where to Watch

Shrinking Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, on Apple TV+. There will be 12 episodes this season.

Plot

Season one ended in a shocking climax where Grace, one of Jimmy's patients, pushed her abusive boyfriend off a cliff. This could result in Jimmy losing his job as a therapist because he had previously joked with Grace about pushing her boyfriend off a cliff and could be held liable. Additionally, he didn't realize that Grace was capable of such an act. In season two, the show may further explore the criminal storyline, as co-creator Bill Lawrence hinted that there won't be a courtroom scene, suggesting a possible cover-up.
