Apple released its new iPad Pro recently with top of the line hardware and flagship specs. However, the build quality of the tablet has been quite controversial. A number of users who purchased the tablet soon after launch have complained about how they received units that were bent. Some users also experienced some deformation by simply carrying it around in their backpacks. Despite being an expensive gadget, the tablet seems to have some manufacturing problems in some units.

Zack Nelson, popularly known as JerryRigEverything is one of the most popular YouTubers on the planet, and he is known for his signature teardown videos where he rips apart the most expensive of gadgets and pushes them to their limits. In his iPad Pro 2018 video, the Apple tablet gave up quite easily when Zack performed a bend test. The device cracked due to pressure near the microphone hole and the magnetic charging area.

With quite a significant number of people complaining about Apple’s new tablet, it may be the case of a manufacturing defect. Apple has been dominating the tablet market, and iPads face no real competition especially when it comes to mid-range tablets. However, the iPad Pro represents top of the line hardware from the manufacturer, and it happens to be significantly more expensive than the standard iPad.

JerryRigEverything’s Zack Nelson offers a verdict after every teardown video and is not particularly impressed with the new Apple tablet’s build quality. You can choose to protect your new iPad Pro using a quality case, and it should serve the purpose of protecting it from pressure just fine. However, Apple’s official cases are not quite up to the mark, and you are better off using third-party cases from reputed manufacturers.
