Golf fans are always up for watching another competition, so the Ryder Cup is just up their alley. If you want to make sure you can watch the Ryder Cup ahead of the next round, we're here to help.

The Ryder Cup is, as fans already know, a biennial men's golf competition between teams from Europe and the United States. The first time the competition was held in 1927 and it happens every two years - once on US courses, once on European ones.

The current champion is the European team, and it remains to be seen whether or not they'll manage to keep the prize. Since 1979, Europe has won eleven times, while the American team won eight times.

The next Ryder Cup will be held between September 25 and September 27th, 2020. The location of the event has already been established - the Whistling Straits Golf Course in Wisconsin, United States. This is the first time the event takes place at this venue, although the US PGA was held here several times.

In 2022 the Cup will be held in Rome, Italy, then in 2024 in Farmingdale, New York, USA. While the future venues of the European events have not been mapped out yet, we do know that in 2028 the Cup will be played in Chaska, Minnesota, in 2032 in San Francisco, California, and in 2036 in Bethesda Maryland.

We'll make sure to update with the full schedule when it becomes available. Until then, you can check out the Ryder Cup official web page for more cool news.

Over the past few years, it's become clear that if you want to watch golf, you have to head over to the NBC Sports channel, or to the Golf Channel. Broadcasting rights for the Ryder Cup in the USA go to the same two channels, so you have a few options. In the UK, the Ryder Cup has always been covered by the BBC, although nowadays you'll also get to enjoy some of the events on Sky Sports.

How to Watch the Ryder Cup Online?

Nowadays, it's so cool that we get to watch TV online, but this also comes with some shortcomings, namely that we don't have full freedom. Sure, you can watch wherever you may, but you need to be on US territory to have access to the live TV platforms. That's because all live TV platforms and streaming services are geoblocked, so you can't watch anything if you travel abroad right when the event is on. Well, thankfully, since all these websites know where you are by checking your IP address, you can simply change it to trick the system. So, look into subscribing to a VPN service, and you bypass all issues in an instant. Let's see what you need to do.

How to Watch the Ryder Cup Without Cable?

Nowadays, it's easier than ever to watch TV online, on whatever device you have on you. Thankfully, in the US there are numerous streaming services that can replace your traditional cable contract and they're all fans of the NBC Sports channel and the Golf Channel, so you can enjoy them all. Let's find out what your options are.

Topping our list, we have fuboTV, which is a great service for people who love sports. There is a single bundle of channels here, but you can add loads of other channel packs and plenty of premium networks if you want to customize your plan. In the fubo bundle, you'll find both NBC and the Golf Channel, so you're covered to watch the event.

If you want to make sure you're not going to miss any part of the Ryder Cup, you can rely on fuboTV to record it for you. Subscribers get access to 30 hours of cloud DVR storage space, which is pretty great. The best part, however, is that you can also expand your DVR feature to 500 hours by paying $9.99 per month. fuboTV allows users to watch content on up to two devices simultaneously, but you can always add a third screen for $5.99 per month. Sling TV is the next platform on our list - one that comes with some of the best customization options we've seen. There are three main bundles - Orange ($25/mo), Blue ($25/mo), and Orange + Blue ($40/mo) -, as well as several extra channel packs grouped by interest, and a few premium networks. NBC is present in the Blue and the Orange + Blue bundle, so you can pick the one that suits you better. Golf Channel, however, is present in the Sports Extra pack for Blue and Orange + Blue subscribers, which costs $10 per month. This limits your choices somewhat, but it's still a good offer.

On Sling TV you won't get any cloud DVR storage space by default, but you can add some 50 hours for $5 per month. When it comes to streaming content to multiple devices at once, Orange subscribers only get one screen, Blue subscribers get three, while Orange + Blue subscribers can stream simultaneously to four devices. We have a Sling TV review ready for you to read.

Visit Hulu

Hulu is our next recommendation, and while we're well aware that the platform is mainly known for the video-on-demand (VOD) service it offers, they've also had live TV available for a while, and you can get it for $44.99 per month. Hulu offers a wide range of channels and they're all pretty great. The best part, however, is that you can enjoy the Ryder Cup via NBC or the Golf Channel.

Hulu offers subscribers enough cloud DVR space to record about 50 hours of programs. You can expand that limit to 200 hours if you'll pay $14.99 per month. A similar expansion is also available for the number of screens you can stream to simultaneously. By default, users can watch content on two screens at once, but you can always add an unlimited number of screens for $14.99 per month. Make sure to give our Hulu review a read.

4. YouTube TV

Device support Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Xbox One, Samsung and LG Smart TVs, iOS, Android
DVR Unlimited storage space, recordings saved for 9 months
Free trial Yes, 7 days
Visit YouTube TV

Next on our list of recommendations is YouTube TV, a very interesting platform. While it could very well offer a number of channel bundles to pick from, it only offers one. Thankfully, the bundle includes loads of channels we're sure you'll love, covering all interests, from entertainment to kids' shows, to news, and sports. The monthly subscription is $49.99 and includes a lot of perks. The list of channels includes NBC, as well as the Golf Channel, so you're good to go on watching the 2020 Ryder Cup.

One of the cool perks we were mentioning is the possibility to record an unlimited number of programs, which you can watch within nine months. Users can stream content to three devices at once, so your family will enjoy other things while you watch golf. Read our YouTube TV review to get a better understanding of what the platform has to offer.

5. DirecTV Now

Overview
Bundles Plus ($50/mo) and Max ($70/mo) Other Packages - Entertainment ($93/mo), Choice ($110/mo), Xtra ($124/mo), Ultimate ($135/mo), and Optimo Mas ($86/mo)
Customization Channel packs - AT&T TV Now Deportes ($5/mo) and AT&T TV Now Espanol ($15/mo) Premium Networks - HBO (included with Plus and Max), Cinemax ($11/mo or included with Max), Showtime ($11/mo), STARZ ($11/mo) International Bundles - Vietnamese ($20/mo), Brazilian ($30/mo), Korean ($30/mo)
Device support Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, Roku, Samsung Smart TVs, iOS, Android, browsers
DVR Up to 20 hours, 30 days limit, no expansions
Free trial Yes, 7 days
Visit AT&T TV Now

Our next proposal is DirecTV Now, which is a platform that offers great variety with seven bundles. Two of these bundles were added recently, namely Plus ($50/mo) and Max ($70/mo), while the other five, namely Entertainment ($93/mo), Choice ($110/mo), Xtra ($124/mo), Ultimate ($135/mo), and Optimo Mas ($86/mo) were simply renamed and given a different pricing. There are also a couple of Spanish channel packs and three international packs, as well as premium networks. If you're looking for NBC, you'll find it in all seven bundles, but Golf Channel only made it in Max, Xtra, and Ultimate. So, if you want that one too, make sure to pick one of the three.

On DirecTV Now, you only get to enjoy 20 hours of cloud DVR storage space, which isn't that much. The worst part is that you can't even pay extra for more space, but that's hopefully something that will change in the future. The platform allows subscribers to stream content on up to two devices at once. Another screen is available, but you have to pay for another screen an extra $5 per month. Make sure to read TechNadu's DirecTV Now review to get a better understanding of what the service has to offer.

6. PlayStation Vue

Playstation Vue
Overview
Bundles Access ($49.99/mo), Core ($54.99/mo), Elite ($64.99/mo), Ultra ($84.99/mo)
Customization Channel bundles - Sports Pack ($10/mo), Espanol Pack ($4.99/mo, $3.99/mo with PlayStation Plus) Premium channels - HBO ($15/mo, or included in Ultra), Showtime ($10.99/mo, $8.99/mo with PlayStation Plus, or included in Ultra), FX+ ($5.99/mo), Epix ($3.99/mo, $2.99/mo with PlayStation Plus), Cinemax ($15/mo), Fox Soccer Plus ($14.99/mo or $12.99 with PlayStation Plus), Hi-YAH! ($2.99/mo or $1.99/mo with PlayStation Plus) Bundles - HBO + Cinemax ($21.99/mo or $19.99/mo with PlayStation Plus), Epix Hits + Showtime ($13.99/mo or $11.49/mo with PlayStation Plus)
Device support Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS, Android, Roku, PS3, PS4, browser
DVR Up to 500 programs, 28 days limit
Free trial Yes, 5 days
Visit PlayStation Vue

Finally, we have the PlayStation Vue. This one offers four bundles to pick from - Access ($44.99/mo), Core ($49.99/mo), Elite ($59.99/mo), and Ultra ($79.99/mo). There is also the possibility of adding a few extra channel packs, and a few premium networks, depending on whichever you want to add. NBC is available in all four bundles, while Golf Channel is present in Core, Elite, and Ultra. Your choices are, thus, somewhat limited, but it's not so bad since you only "lose" access to one bundle if you want to have both channels.

On PlayStation Vue, subscribers have enough cloud DVR space to record 500 programs, but the recordings are only saved for 28 days. PS Vue enables users to watch content on up to five devices at once, which is the most we've seen, especially since it's at no additional cost. Another cool feature we noticed here is the possibility to watch three different programs at once on the same screen in a split screen. Check out our PlayStation Vue review for more info.

The next Ryder Cup will surely be far more enjoyable when you can watch it from any corner of the world you may be in, even if it means watching on your tablet, or laptop. We can't wait to hear which platform you chose in the comments section below, and please share the article online so others can find it too.
