Apple Event October 2018 Roundup — Apple Announces Upgraded MacBook Air, Mac Mini, and iPad Pro
Last updated September 23, 2021
Many Apple fans were left disappointed last month after Apple did not reveal any details about new iPads or Mac devices. However, the Apple Store being taken offline ahead of the tech giant’s October event scheduled for today it seems like the wait for new hardware is finally over.
Apple is expected to announce its new iPad tablets as well as new Mac models. An update to the MacBook and the iMac lineup has been long overdue, and we may finally see some hardware upgrades. There have been a lot of controversies lately about faulty keyboards and hardware throttling, and hopefully, all of those issues will be resolved in the new hardware.
The 2018 lineup of iPad Pro tablets is likely to ditch the Home button in favor of the iPhone X design with a TrueDepth camera and Face ID. A new Apple Pencil is also expected to be announced with new gestures and swipe features.
The MacBook refresh is also rumored to include a new 12-inch budget MacBook to replace the dated MacBook Air. Apple is also rumored to release updates for the Mac Mini as well, which has not been updated in over four years.
Last year the tech giant revealed that they are working on a wireless charger that can power up multiple devices at the same time. Apple may finally showcase the product and other accessories for the iPhones that were announced last month. We may also see updates to the HomePod speakers and other devices. The event can be viewed live on Apple TV or on the company’s website if you are interested in catching up on all the announcements.
