Instagram has gone through a lot of changes in 2018 including IGTV, a revamped Feed and more. There are more changes to come with users reporting a new hashtags section being added to the app that allows users to add tags to their posts separately instead of the caption section.
The change is very useful as it de-clutters your caption area. The update to the Instagram app was first spotted by Jane Wong who posted it on twitter. She has been consistent with reporting new features that make it into the Facebook and Instagram official apps.

Users will get access to a new screen that they can use to manually choose hashtags based on what they are already typing. Users can also deselect hashtags manually or simply to head to the previous menu to remove all hashtags at one go.
Instagram often tests a number of features and not all of it makes it into the public release. It is unknown if we will get the update for all users or not. However, if the social media giant does decide to push the update for everyone, we can expect it in the next few weeks. You can also share your posts on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr like always by using the section below the new hashtag menu.
