Analyst Reveals New Information on the Eve of Apple’s New Product Announcements

• Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TGI Securities feels that the 6.1-inch LCD 'iPhone XC' will have a delayed launch due to quality issues.
• He also says that the iPad Pro will ditch the Lightning Connector for USB-C.
• A new MacBook that will replace the MacBook Air is also expected to be unveiled tomorrow.

Apple is set to unveil new hardware refreshes tomorrow and the most awaited products are, of course, the rumored new iPhones. So far, we've been hearing reports that there will be three iPhone variants this year and one of them will be a 6.1-inch LCD variant. However, if the latest report by TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is anything to go by, there will be delays by the time the device hits the market.

Kuo says that the launch of the phone has been postponed between late September to early October due to 'quality issues with the assembly and display'. He also notes that the new iPhones will not come with an 18W power adapter as was earlier expected. Instead, Apple will continue to bundle a standard 5W adapter. Alongside the new iPhones, Apple is also set to announce the updated iPad Pro with thin bezels and no headphone jack. Kuo says that the new iPad Pros will come with a USB-C port instead of the proprietary Lightning connector.

The Apple Watch Series 4 is all set to get some new improvements according to Kuo. The analyst says that the Apple Watch is expected to feature ECG/EKG functionality and will sport premium ceramic backs. Osram has been roped in as the supplier for the ECG component.

Finally, a new MacBook is also expected to be announced that will be the successor to the MacBook Air. The new MacBook is expected to feature Touch ID but will lack the Touch Bar found in the high-end MacBook Pros. Everwin Precision is said to be the supply partner for the new MacBooks. Also on the anvil are the AirPower wireless charging mat and new AirPods.

Kuo has a great track record when it comes to predicting Apple's next move so we have no reason to doubt his assertions. Still, until it comes straight from the horse's mouth, always take such info with a pinch of salt.
