The user review feature at Netflix will be taken down on July 30, and fans will no longer be able to post reviews of their favorite TV shows and movies. All of the existing reviews from the archive will be taken down in August and users will no longer be able to view them.

While a review feature might sound like something useful, it is not particularly true for Netflix. The feature is exclusive to the web version of the app only and it is difficult to access. Once the feature is taken down, users will continue to be able to use the thumbs up / thumbs down feature, which a better way to find out if a show is well received by Netflix users or not.

Users who write reviews were notified via email by the company that their reviews will be taken down in August and that the users will no longer be able to write any reviews once the change goes into effect. If you want to check out the user review section, you can head to any TV show or movie’s listing and click on the Details option. The panel includes a Members Reviews page which allows you to view all reviews or post your own.

Despite being a paid subscription-based service, the streaming service has been performing quite well compared to free alternatives like BBC iPlayer and ITV. YouTube continues to be the most dominant company in the streaming market with Netflix being a close second. However, when it comes to exclusive TV shows and movies, Netflix is the clear winner. Users are willing to pay more to get access to the premium content, and the company has been growing year after year.
