Often considered one of the "Big Three" anime series, along with Naruto and One Piece, Bleach is based on Tite Kubo's original manga. The story follows the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki after he obtains the powers of a Soul Reaper (a death personification similar to the Grim Reaper) from another Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki. His newfound powers force him to take on the duties of defending humans from evil spirits and guiding departed souls to the afterlife.
The anime adaptation of Bleach includes original storylines not found in the manga, with repeated appearances and arcs containing these original characters. Despite being one of the most popular anime shows, the series was canceled before adapting the manga's final "Thousand-Year Blood War arc." However, as reported before, Bleach is returning sometime this year and will finally finish adapting the entire manga story.
Fans looking to watch Bleach before the final season airs this year can check it out onNetflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Funimation.
