Free! The Final Stroke: The Second Volume Reveals Trailer Ahead of Spring Release

The staff for Free! The Final Stroke: The Second Volume anime film has revealed a new trailer for fans! Moreover, the recently released trailer also previews the theme song for the film by OLDCODEX, titled This Fading Blue. This year, the film is slated for a spring release and is the second part of the two-part anime story.

The Free! anime franchise, loosely based on the "High Speed!" light novels by Kouji Ooji, began in 2013. The franchise includes three TV series and multiple films. The upcoming "Free! The Final Stroke: The Second Volume" sees protagonist Nanase Haruka training intensively for a rematch with Albert Volandel following the events of last year's film, "Free! The Final Stroke: The First Volume."

"Free! The Final Stroke: The Second Volume" is slated to release on April 22 in Japan. The upcoming film has been advertised as the "final chapter" in the series. Check out the recently released trailer for the upcoming anime film below:

"Free! The Final Stroke: The Second Volume" sees Eisaku Kawanami as the director, story composer, and scriptwriter. Masahiro Yokotani serves as co-scriptwriter, while the late Futoshi Nishiya serves as character designer. Kouhei Okamura and Miku Kadowaki are the chief animation directors for the film. Other staff includes Shingo Kasai as art director, Yuuka Yoneda is the color designer, Kazuya Takaoka as photography director, and Tatsuya Katou as music composer.

Fans looking to watch the Free! anime series can check it out on Crunchyroll. The platform streams all three seasons of the anime series in the English dubbed and subbed versions and the French, Spanish, and Portuguese dubs. Crunchyroll describes the first season of "Free!" as:

"Nanase Haruka loved to be in the water – loved swimming. In elementary school, Nanase Haruka, Tachibana Makoto, Matsuoka Rin, and Hazuki Nagisa attended the same swimming class together. Time passed, and as Haruka was living an uneventful high school life, he suddenly encountered Rin again. Rin challenged Haruka to a race and showed him how much stronger he had become. Soon enough, Makoto and Nagisa also rejoined the group, and along with a new classmate, Ryugazaki Rei, they established the Iwatobi High School Swimming Club."
