Another week of Attack on Titan passes by without Eren, and we can't help but miss him. Our favorite hero turned villain has started "the Rumbling," which means mass genocide for the world and freedom for Paradis. However, as Commander Hange Zoe says in the latest episode, "Genocide is wrong." So, of course, we can't support Eren's actions anymore in good faith.
The latest episode, "Night of the End," saw our heroes from the 104th cadet corps preparing to fight their former best friend, Eren Yeager. The group has teamed up with their Scout Regiment leaders, Hange and Levi, Marleyans General Theo Magath, Cart Titan Pieck Finger, and others. The "save the world" group, formed in the previous episode, is seen sitting down and finally doing what Armin suggested in Season 4 Part 1: talking.
Fans will remember that Armin's views on the world thinking of Paradis' residents as demons were always peaceful. It seems that since Eren has left no other choice now, the survivors must talk to one another and sort their differences if they are to stop this genocide. The conversation in today's episode raised some interesting questions. The biggest question being asked by Annie Leonhart: if the group is all out of options, can Mikasa kill Eren? Would she be willing to sacrifice him to save the world?
Of course, Mikasa did not give us a direct answer, leaving us to wonder what her choice would be if such a time were to arrive. On the other hand, Yelena stirred up some old conflicts between our islanders and the Marleyans, even instigating Jean by bringing up Reiner, Bertholdt, and Annie, killing Marco. The discussion prompted Jean to throw a few punches at Reiner, leaving him with a bloody face.
Ultimately, the one character fans love to hate on, Gabi Braun, talks everyone into working together by apologizing for Marley's past actions. The group eventually realizes that working together is the only way and that the past must be left behind to preserve the future. Our newly formed "save the world" group is seen heading out towards the port by the end of the episode.
However, Pieck Finger as the Cart Titan informs the group that the Yeagerists have occupied the port. It seems that the Yeagerists are expecting an attack since they're lying in wait while clad in ODM gear complete with Thunder Spears. In a twist of events, we see the leader of the Yeagerists, Floch, holding a gun to Kiyomi Azumabito's head. It remains to be seen if she'll survive the situation or become one of the victims of the Yeagerists, and by extension, Eren Yeager.
Highly anticipated by millions of fans worldwide, Attack on Titan's Final Season began on January 9, 2022, airing an episode per week every Sunday. According to the preview at the end of the last episode, the upcoming episode will be titled "Traitor." Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 Episode 10 will release on Sunday, March 13, 2022.
With only three more episodes remaining for the series' ending, we expect Eren to be back in action in the next episode. In addition, we also expect a confrontation at the port between our heroes and the Yeagerists since neither can afford to waste any more time!
