Season 1 of the anime series Classroom of the Elite ended five years ago, in 2017. Ever since the first season of the anime ended, fans have been hoping for a second season. With the amount of time that has passed since season 1 first premiered, it seems that fans had given up on a second season ever coming out. However, it seems that the long-awaited second season of the TV anime adaptation of Shogo Kinugasa's light novel series Classroom of the Elite has finally gotten the green light!
The official description for the first season of Classroom of the Elite reads:
"Kiyotaka Ayanokoji has just enrolled at Tokyo Koudo Ikusei Senior High School, where it's said that 100% of students go on to college or find employment. But he ends up in Class 1-D, which is full of all the school's problem children. What's more, every month, the school awards students points with a cash value of 100,000 yen, and the classes employ a laissez-faire policy in which talking, sleeping, and even sabotage are permitted during class. One month later, Ayanokoji, Horikita, and the students of Class D learn the truth of the system in place within their school..."

According to Crunchyroll's latest update, further information about the Classroom of the Elite series second season will be revealed at the "Anime Project Presentation" streaming on KADOKAWA's official anime YouTube channel from 20:00 (JST) / 03:00 (PT) on March 6, 2022. In addition, the series' two main voice actors, Shoya Chiba, who plays Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, and Yurika Kubo, who plays Kikyou Kushida, will also join the presentation. Fans can also take this as a confirmation that the two actors will be reprising their respective roles in the second season.
The Classroom of the Elite novel series was published from KADOKAWA's light novel MF Bunko J from May 2015 to September 2019. The series has printed more than six million copies to date! The anime adaptation for the Classroom of the Elite series was produced by Lerche and aired for 12 episodes from July to September 2017. The first season of the series covers the first three volumes of the novels.
