Any Naruto fan worth their salt knows that our favorite Hidden Leaf Shinobis, Naruto and Sasuke, lost an arm during their final battle at the Valley of the End. Interestingly, Sasuke and Naruto lost their dominant arms, which had the Six Paths Yin and Yang power. For fans who have forgotten, Naruto obtains a light-colored, sun-like palm seal on his right hand after his first conversation with the Sage of Six Paths.
Naruto even uses this power to save Might Guy, who was dying after using the forbidden Eight Inner Gates technique, and give Kakashi Hatake a new eye after Madara steals Obito's Sharingan from him. On the other hand, Sasuke obtains a dark-colored, crescent moon-like palm seal on his left hand. However, Naruto and Sasuke lose their arms and the godly Yin and Yang powers after their final fight.
So, how did Naruto get his arm back? Why didn't Sasuke get his arm back as well? Read on to find out.
Naruto and Sasuke lose an arm during their final battle at Valley of the End in episode 478 of Naruto: Shippuden. After the two finally reconcile and become friends, they undo the infinite Tsukuyomi and release all the tailed beasts that Sasuke had entrapped after the battle with Kaguya. As the village returns to normal, both Naruto and Sasuke return home, with the latter being in a prison cell for a while.
Naruto, whose one goal throughout the series was to become the Hokage, obviously needed his arm back. Not to mention, the Uzumaki was also considered the Hero of the Hidden Leaf nay the entire war. Tsunade, also a medic ninja, then finds a way for Naruto to achieve his dream. The Fifth Hokage Tsunade used her grandfather, Hashirama Senju's cells to create a prosthetic arm for Naruto by the end of the series.
Anyone who's watched the series knows that the first Hokage Hashirama Senju's cells were the saving grace for all who wanted to live. If you've watched the series, you'll know that Hashirama's cells were so overpowered that they got more screen time than TenTen. From Madara to Kabuto, everyone wanted Hashirama's cells since they have a vital life force and regeneration.
The end of the fourth great shinobi war also sees jonin Kakashi Hatake ascending to the position of Hokage, making him the sixth Hokage of Konoha. After becoming the Hokage, Kakashi grants Sasuke a pardon for his crimes due to saving everyone from Madara Uchiha and Kaguya Otsutsuki. By the end of the series, Naruto tells Sasuke about Tsunade's plans to give him a prosthetic arm and insists that Sasuke undergo the same procedure as well.
However, after the battle, Sasuke's only goals are to protect Konoha and atone for his sins. He also tells Naruto that he wants to see the shinobi world as his current self. Sasuke believes that getting a new arm would symbolically disrespect his self-growth. Owing to his newfound sense of self, Sasuke decides that he will atone for all he has done by accepting himself as who he is, even if that means having to live without an arm for the rest of his life.
Although, if you've watched Boruto, you've seen that Sasuke is too badass to need his arm back. On the other hand, Naruto achieves his childhood dream and becomes the seventh Hokage of Konohagakure. That was obvious; Hashirama cells are the best, aren't they?
