It’s true that Tinder takes account bans quite seriously. If your account is under review, or if it has been banned, you’ll have a tough time re-accessing it. However, you’re not without options (but be prepared to go through a lengthy process). With that said, let’s talk about how to get unbanned from Tinder, revealing the best options you have right now.

As you can see just below, there are two methods to get unbanned from Tinder. First, you can submit an appeal – but only if you’ve been banned by accident. Alternatively, you’ll need to create a new account (using workaround steps). Keep on reading!

If you decide that getting unbanned from Tinder is a lot of work, you’ll want to check our guide to the best alternatives to Tinder (where you’ll find 10 different options).

Method #1: Submit an Appeal to Tinder

Our first recommendation would be to contact Tinder and ask them to take another look at your account. However, we need to warn you that Tinder will unban your account only if you can prove that it’s been banned by accident.

With that said, we first recommend reading Tinder’s Terms of Use and Community Guidelines. That’s where you’ll find a wide range of reasons for triggering the app to ban you. That includes creating a fake profile, being underage, harassing others, impersonating someone else, posting sexual content, making racist comments, spamming, and similar.

If you can prove that your Tinder account has been flagged by accident, send an email to [email protected] and/or [email protected]. You can also submit a request to Tinder via its official website.

In your message, make sure to acknowledge the reason for your Tinder ban – and say that you’re sorry and that you weren’t aware that you’re doing something against the app’s rules. It will also help if you upload a screenshot of the ban, visible as you try to access your account.

On average, it takes 3 to 4 days for Tinder’s support team to respond. If you don’t get an answer by then, send another message saying that you’re waiting for their response. Of course, make sure you’re being polite, as doing otherwise won’t get you very far.

Method #2: Create a New Tinder Account

If your appeal to get unbanned from Tinder fails, you’ll be left with only one option. We’re talking about creating a new Tinder account, which will turn out to be quite tricky. That’s because Tinder’s bans are pretty rigorous, flagging your IP, device ID, and more.

Your approach to creating a new Tinder account must be cautious and thoughtful. This isn’t a simple procedure, so we’ll explain each step of the way. Keep on reading to learn more.

Step #1: Uninstall Tinder From Your Device

First and foremost, remove Tinder from your device. If you can use the Settings app for that, make sure to go that route. You want to ensure that Tinder is removed from your device’s storage, alongside its cache data.

Once you’re ready to create a new account (there’s some preparation before that’s possible), we’ll instruct you to reinstall the app. For now, make sure it’s not available on your device.

Step #2: Disconnect Your Facebook Account from Tinder

Since many people use their Facebook accounts to log in to Tinder, those two digital services connect and share data. Since you won’t be able to use your Facebook anymore (to use Tinder, that is), we recommend disconnecting the two services/apps.

In other words, you’ll need to visit your Facebook account. Then, access your profile menu and navigate to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Apps and Websites. Remove Tinder from that list. If you need additional information, head over to this Facebook support page.

Step #3: Reset Your Advertising ID

When you signed up for Tinder the first time, the app collected your IP address, as well as your device’s ID and advertising ID. That is why once you get banned from Tinder, you won’t be able to create a new account using the same device as before.

Therefore, you have two options right now. You can use a different device to sign up and then use Tinder. However, that’s not an option for everyone. So, as an alternative, you need to use a VPN service (to change your IP) and then reset your device's advertising ID.

To find a VPN service, check our guide to the best VPNs for Tinder. You’ll see that our top recommendation is ExpressVPN, suitable for both complete beginners and advanced users. You’ll also want to know how to set up ExpressVPN (we made sure to cover 60+ devices).

Then, to reset your advertising ID, you need to turn to your smartphone’s Settings app. On iOS, navigate to Settings > Privacy > Apple Advertising > Personal Ads. Make sure to disable that feature. On Android, go to Settings > Google > Ads > Reset Advertising ID.

And lastly, when it comes to changing your device’s ID, that’s where things can be tricky. On iOS, you can’t change your ID, which lowers your chances of setting up a new Tinder account (make sure to pay attention to all other steps instead). On Android, that’s possible only on rooted devices (using apps like Device ID Changer, for example).

Step #4: Obtain a New SIM / Phone Number

To verify your new Tinder account, you’ll need to supply your phone number. Of course, you’ll need a new phone number, as using your old one isn’t an option. There are several important things to keep in mind here, so let’s go over what you need to know.

Your best option would be to buy a new phone number. You’ll most likely need to provide your ID, which should not be a problem. Using a phone number to verify your account is the most effective way to bypass Tinder’s ban, and we highly recommend using it.

Of course, you can also use a friend’s phone number by borrowing their SIM card. That needs to be a friend who’s not on Tinder (and doesn’t plan on using it in the future).

And lastly, you can also use services like Google Voice. However, know that those services often require your phone number to register. And also, there’s always a risk of ending up with an already used phone number, which could lead you to get banned from Tinder again.

Step #5: Obtain a new Facebook / Google Account

Remember that Tinder offers multiple options for signing up. Aside from using your phone number to verify your identity, you’ll also have options to create a Tinder account using your Facebook or Google account.

You should not use the same Facebook or Google account as before, as that’s one of the easiest ways for Tinder to ban your account (again). With that said, use the following links to set up a Facebook account or create a new Google account, based on which of those you want to use with your new Tinder account.

Step #6: Obtain a New Apple ID / Google Account

As you realize by now, creating a new Tinder account after getting banned requires you to break any ties with your old account. That’s why we recommend getting a new phone number, resetting your digital identifiers, getting new social media profiles, and more.

The final step in that direction would be to use a new Apple ID or Google Account to download Tinder to your smartphone. With that said, you’ll want to create a new Apple ID or get a new Google account (if you failed to do some in the previous step).

Then, make sure to log in to your Apple ID or Google Account on your iOS or Android device. That means that you need to log out of our old account first. The goal is to download Tinder from iOS App Store / Google Play Store using your new account.

Step #7: Finally – Sign Up for a New Tinder Profile

Once everything is set, proceed to create a new Tinder account. To recap, every information you associate with your Tinder account must be different from what you used in the past.

In other words, you need to have a different IP address (which is where VPNs come into play), a different device ID, a new phone number, and a new Google / Apple account (if you decide to use one of those sign-up methods).

In other words – don’t use anything you used with your previous Tinder account (especially if the reason for creating a new account is to bypass Tinder’s ban, which remains permanent).

All there’s left is to download the Tinder app. Then, follow the prompts you’ll see on your screen to sign up. Since you’ll be using all-new information, the app won’t be able to connect you to your previous account (if you’re careful enough, that is).
