Dealing with a Discord server ban can be a very frustrating experience. That's because there's no "official" way to appeal your ban, which remains active until the Discord server's owners decide to let you back in. However, all hope is not lost. We'll show you how to get unbanned from a Discord server – without a VPN, in three different ways.

It's true that using a VPN is a pretty easy way to bypass a Discord ban. However, doing so is against Discord's ToS (Terms of Service). If caught, your account might be banned permanently. If you still want to take that risk, head over to our guide on the best VPNs for Discord.

Method #1: Bypass a Discord Server Ban by Creating a New Account

Creating a new account allows you to re-access Discord, as you'll be registered as a new user. As you can see, this method doesn't exactly get your old account unbanned from a Discord server. However, if you don't wish to use a VPN, this is the easiest method to regain access.

There are several things to keep in mind here. First, the chances are that your IP address is blocked alongside your username. Before you try re-registering on Discord, you need to change your IP address. We recommend creating a hotspot on your smartphone (here's how that is done on iOS and Android). Also, there are additional ways to change your IP (without a VPN).

Once you get a new IP address, you'll also need a new email address (as you'll need to input your email address when signing up for a Discord account). Lastly, keep in mind that Discord servers typically have administrators that review individual members manually. So, pick a username that doesn't resemble your old username (so you can avoid being detected).

Method #2: Appeal Your Discord Ban by Contacting the Server Owner

If you won't wish to create a new account, there's another method to get unbanned from a Discord server without resorting to a VPN. As you can already imagine, we're talking about contacting the server owner and trying to appeal your ban.

With that said, you need to know the owner/administrator of the Discord server you're trying to re-access. If you don't know their (user)name, you need to ask someone to check that info for you (another Discord user). Your friend will need to do the following:

  1. Launch Discord and access the application by logging in.
  2. Navigate to the Discord server of interest. Click on the server name box.
  3. The server management section should open on the left-hand side.
  4. Click on 'Server Settings.'
  5. Pick 'Members' using the left-placed menu.
  6. Check the user with a crown next to their name. That’s the server’s owner.

Once the owner has been identified, your friend can send a message that you can prepare in advance. Of course, in the end, it's the Discord server owner's decision whether you let you back in. Your appeal could work only if you've been banned by accident.

Method #3: Appeal Your Discord Ban by Contacting Discord’s Staff

In case you're wrongfully banned, and if you can prove your claims, there's another way to get unbanned on a Discord server without a VPN. However, this final method should be used as the last measure in the case of serious issues, like being a victim of online harassment, being targeted by malware propagated via Discord, and similar.

You need to visit the 'Submit a Request' page on Discord's website to file your appeal. Make sure to pick 'Trust & Safety,' which will then show you several input fields. Explain your problem as clearly as you can, and don't forget to submit any evidence that backs up your claims. Then, send your appeal to Discord's staff and wait for a response.

Keep in mind that if you did anything against Discord's Terms of Service, it would be close to impossible to see your account become active once again. And also, Discord's staff might not be able to help with individual servers – but they can be of help in case of legal problems (if that's the reason for your Discord server ban, of course).
