According to a new report from Korea, Apple seems to be falling behind on the release schedule of the new iPhone lineup for 2018. According to recent rumors, two new iPhone X devices with OLED panels are scheduled for launch this year along with an LCD device which will be priced significantly lower than the premium X models. The latest report from an analyst suggests that the LCD version of the latest iPhone will not be available before November while the OLED devices will go on sale during September as usual.

The 2018 lineup of iPhones will include a new iPhone X, an iPhone X Plus with a larger display, and a lower-priced LCD iPhone which will go on sale for around $800. The original iPhone X faced a lot of criticism due to its hefty price tag of $999. The LCD version of the latest iPhone will share the same design elements and offer similar features at a lower price point.

The delay in the release of the new LCD iPhone is due to the notch. Japan Display is responsible for manufacturing the displays for the lower-priced iPhone, and yield issues have slowed down production of the panels. There have been no believable leaks so far to suggest the authenticity of the leaks. With the iPhone SE2 rumored for release this year as well, analysts are unsure if the LCD phone is a downsized version of the iPhone X or a successor to the budget iPhone SE.

With the reports of delayed production coming from an unnamed analyst, there is not much credibility to go by. Apple is set to host WWDC June 4 onwards, and the usual iPhone reveal conference in September which is likely to showcase all of the new hardware for this year.
