Apple’s June WWDC events tend to focus on MacOS, iOS, and MacBooks with iPhones and it is likely Apple will continue the trend. The new lineup of iPhones can be expected in September at the next WWDC, but a refresh if the iPhone SE cannot be ruled out as the first generation iPhone SE was launched the first half of 2016.

With the MacBook Pros not doing too well and plenty of controversy surrounding the quality control on the products due to faulty keyboards and other issues, it is likely Apple will refresh the MacBook and MacBook Pro lineup this year. A full redesign is expected with new keyboards and a bump in specs to include the latest generation of Intel processors and more RAM. With rumors floating around about a new MacBook Air, it is likely the aging Air version of the MacBook will finally be updated. A 13” variant that’s lighter on the wallet is likely to be introduced alongside the new standard MacBook and MacBook Pro releases. The AirPower wireless charging mat was teased last year for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X last year but it has not been released yet. We can expect its release at the WWDC this year.

With most of the focus of the WWDC event on software, we can expect new versions of iOS and MacOS to be announced. iOS 11.4 just hit iOS devices, and an iOS 12 update is imminent with new features. The latest and greatest from iOS is likely to be announced at the WWDC and will be released when the new iPhones for 2018 come out in September. With iOS 11 plagued with performance issues, iOS 12 is rumored to help with the platform’s reliability and performance.

There have been very few rumors to hold any expectations from MacOS at WWDC, and it is likely we won’t be receiving any major news for Apple’s desktop OS. WatchOS and Siri are likely to be updated with new features, and Apple may finally open up to third-party integration for both Siri to compete against Alexa and Google Assistant.
