For those who used screenshots to share their tweets to Instagram, Twitter introduced a new feature today that lets them share posts from the "Share" button. However, this option is only available for its iOS app until the full rollout.

It is not the biggest functionality breakthrough, but it sure makes some people's lives easier since many used to screenshot their tweets, store the screenshots on their device, and then post them in their Instagram Stories. All these steps were erased with this simple option presented by Twitter now.

It is a minor step, but it surely improves the integration of these two social media platforms, but we might see more of these in the near future.

The relationship between Instagram and Twitter had its ups and downs, and it started with the latter wanting to acquire the photo-sharing social platform until it got included in Facebook's portfolio. A long time ago, there was a cross-posting option that showed your Insta pics as cards in tweets, but the support for that functionality ended in 2012 when Instagram decided it wanted to keep the traffic to itself.

Twitter tried other experiments as well, with the latest being the "professional profile" feature, a new tool allowing businesses, non-profits, publishers, creators, and virtually anyone who uses Twitter for work to create a tailored profile. Instagram also introduced some new features this past year, and we saw a "recently deleted" feature just this spring.
