Cheddar is not done making deals with streaming TV providers just yet. With multiple partnerships already formed recently including with the likes of YouTube TV and Comcast X1, their latest deal is with Hulu's Live TV services. The live streaming service will bring Cheddar’s programming to its 17 million subscribers later this month.

Cheddar is one of the most popular digital-only news networks, and their partnership with Hulu will bring Hulu Live TV users Cheddar’s live linear network. Hulu subscribers can expect morning and afternoon briefs, key highlights as well as Cheddar Originals. A combination of live and on-demand programming from Cheddar will be available to Live TV subscribers only. Daily news segments other select content will be made for on-demand viewers.

The deal with Hulu is slightly different from what Cheddar has in place with YouTube TV. YouTube’s deal focuses on making Cheddar’s linear programming available to its service users. YouTube TV also has access to Cheddar’s latest channel, Cheddar Big News, which Hulu does not have access to yet.

YouTube TV’s target demographic is much younger who may already be familiar with the Cheddar brand or other digital networks in general, says Engadget. It fits well into Cheddar’s demographics as 1 in 5 millennials know about the brand. For Hulu, the addition of Cheddar means that they are getting access to a new network that could be appealing to users who want to view digital-only content and already have Hulu memberships.

Tim Connolly, SVP, Head of Partnerships and Distribution at Hulu made a statement claiming the brand is happy to partner with a millennial-focused network like Cheddar to offer even more value to their Live TV services.

Cheddar used to be a subscription-based network at launch. They turned into an ad-supported online-only network with revenue being reliant on ads and sponsorships. Other than Hulu and YouTube TV, Cheddar is also partnered with Sling TV, Philo, Comcast X1, Altice One, Pluto, Molotov among streaming networks. Social platforms like Twitch, Facebook, Amazon, and Twitch, are also partnered with Cheddar to offer their news content that rakes in hundreds of thousands of unique viewers each month.
