Amazon is introducing a new way to interact with Alexa through custom Alexa Skills. Any user can program custom responses to specific questions or commands without any coding or tech skills being required. Alexa Skill Blueprints will allow average household owners to customize a wide range of questions with questions and answers. The feature is targeted towards mostly fun purposes. It can prove to be very useful for entertaining children, guests or it may be used for funny pranks.

Steve Rabuchin, VP of Amazon Alexa mentioned his family tried out the new feature and were able to setup jokes in a matter of minutes without having any building or coding skills. Amazon is providing pre-built templates in the Alexa Skill Blueprints app to help users get started with making custom questions and answers of their own. Trivia games, jokes, short stories and many more fun templates are already included so users can set up their own Alexa skills very easily.

The custom questions and answers are surely going to keep Alexa users busy tinkering with the new feature for a while. While the new addition of Alexa Skill Blueprints does open up to some jovial fun, it is also open to abuse with people setting up the voice assistant to offer incorrect responses in households. There will surely be funny videos popping up all over the internet in the coming weeks with pranks and jokes.

Amazon’s smart assistant Alexa has been getting quite a bit of attention with plenty of new features being added since its release. With features like voice calling, audio control, news updates and smart home control available for Amazon Echo devices, Alexa can prove to be a very useful smart assistant if you have plenty of supported devices in your home.

The feature will roll out in the US today and will roll out to other countries over the coming weeks. The Verge reports Amazon’s Alexa website has already been updated with the new templates for users to create online.
