Paramount Plus has been around for a couple of weeks, and it's already losing subscribers, mostly because there's a sense that they did not deliver on the promised content. Don't worry! If you want to quit on Paramount Plus, there are plenty of alternatives out there.
With Paramount Plus, there are a couple of subscription options where you choose whether you'll endure watching ads or not, paying more to go entirely without. The platform offers users access to content from CBS, MTV, Comedy Central, BET, Paramount Network, Smithsonian Channel, Nickelodeon, as well as Paramount Pictures. There are also loads of originals, most of them from the defunct CBS All Access.
Nonetheless, if you decided that Paramount Plus is not the platform for you and chose to cancel your subscription, there are plenty of alternatives so you can continue watching really cool content. Let's see what options you have.
Taking into consideration all the content that was being offered by Paramount Plus, we're going to list a few great platforms that you could be using instead. They all offer loads of content, have similar subscription price points, and work great.
Hulu has been around for quite a while now, and it offers a ton of content. In fact, it brings in plenty of shows and movies, even from the ViacomCBS networks like CBS and MTV. Hulu also comes with two subscription options - ad-supported for $5.99 per month and ad-free for $11.99 per month. There's also Hulu with Live TV, but that one's more expensive at $64.99 per month.
The Live TV service includes access to CBS and Smithsonian Channel, as well as plenty of sports networks. As far as content goes, Hulu offers a great deal of it from numerous sources, as well as some really great originals. It's definitely worth a try if you haven't subscribed already.
When it comes to streaming, there's really no platform that's better known than Netflix, especially since this one's available worldwide. The service has three subscription options available, offering folks access to more streams per account and HD or Ultra HD content as the price goes sup. For instance, the basic account costs $8.99 per month, offers a single stream, and no HD or Ultra HD content. In contrast, the Premium account (which is the most expensive one) goes for $17.99 per month and includes four simultaneous streams and the best video quality.
As far as content goes, Netflix also has some titles borrowed from CBS and other networks under the ViacomCBS umbrella, so it may already feature some of your favorites. Furthermore, Netflix has a wide collection of shows and movies from the biggest companies out there, as well as loads of originals.
Launched less than a year and a half ago, Disney Plus is expanding to more and more countries as time goes on. Disney Plus runs for $7.99 per month and $79.99 per year and offers content from Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, Pixar, and Disney Channels, as well as wildly successful originals like The Mandalorian or WandaVision.
The cool thing about this service is that all-things Disney end up on here, including movies like Mulan that had its premiere here. Also, folks outside the US are even getting some extra content via a special side of the business called Star. What they have to offer here is usually found under the Hulu umbrella in the US, but it's a welcomed addition anyway.
Next, we have Peacock as a suggestion. This one comes from rival network NBC, and it comes with some really cool content. First of all, Peacock has a completely free tier. It allows access to only a fraction of what the service has to offer, but it's a cool thing to have anyway.
The other two tiers - Premium and Premium Plus - come in at $4.99 and $9.99 per month and offer a lot more content, including original shows. It's a pretty awesome platform to have a subscription to, and it offers lots of content for a good price.
Discovery Plus is another service you should be looking into. Launched just a few months back, Discovery Plus comes with two subscription options - $4.99 per month for the ad-supported version and $6.99 per month for the ad-free version. The service offers content from Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, ID, Animal Planet, and Magnolia network, as well as loads of originals.
The platform is a great option if you love content from any of the above-mentioned channels, and who doesn't want to watch some House Hunters, right?
We only added ESPN+ here because this is a service that can help connect you to a ton of sports content. The service features loads of exclusive access to games and events, including UFC. As you know, Paramount Plus also provides live access to soccer, NFL games, and more.
With ESPN+, you at least get to watch some sports here and there, and you'll certainly have access to more events. The subscription comes in at $5.99 per month or $59.99 per year.
However, there's also the possibility of bundling in ESPN+ with Hulu and Disney Plus for $12.99 per month for the ad-free Hulu version. The bundle that features Hulu Premium goes up to $18.99 per month, while another that includes Hulu + Live TV goes for $72 per month. These are also super great bundles if you're looking to get all the services and still have a good price.
As you can see, Paramount Plus may be a cool service, but it's not irreplaceable. In fact, none of the services above are irreplaceable. As long as you are not adamant about streaming one particular show or another, you're good to go to watch more cool content from other platforms.
We would really love to hear back from you so you can tell us if you chose any of these services in exchange for Paramount Plus and why you decided to cut off Paramount Plus in the first place.
