iPhone 12 Speaks a New “Cutting Edge” Design Language

iPhone 12 is finally turning the page on the roundish design that characterized quite a few of the previous generations, and it is now bringing on a square look with flat edges, radiating a "cutting edge" feel that goes so well with the technology that runs inside the device.

This is a welcome refresh because the new iPhones will have a distinctive look that will set them apart from what Apple released in the last couple of years. The last time we saw square corners and flat sides on an iPhone was back on the iPhone 5. The new design alone is a compelling marketing argument to convince fans to get the new device.

Besides giving a unique character to the iPhone 12 lineup, the new design language also makes it easier to hold compared to "roundish" devices. We know that most people use a case anyway, but those who like to carry their phones "naked" will feel less stressed when they pick the iPhone 12 up.

The only difference between the four models - besides the size - is that the "Mini" and the standard 12 models have an aluminum frame, while the higher-end "Pro" and "Pro Max" models have a stainless steel frame.

Compared to iPhone 11, the standard model of the newest generation is 11% thinner, 15% smaller, and also 16% lighter.

Apart from that, the Lightning port, the notch, the Apple logo, and the lenses are all in exactly the same positions they were in the iPhone 11, so there have been no ground-breaking changes. The bezels around the screen are a bit smaller (1 millimeter), though, which makes quite a difference in how attractive the new device looks.
