Xiaomi will be launching the next flagship smartphones Mi and Mi 6 Plus. Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus and its shipment begin on April 21. One of the similarities between the both Galaxy S8 and Mi 6 duo is the Snapdragon 835 chipset.
Xiaomi seems to be testing the performance of the Mi 6 flagship as its Geekbench benchmark scores have surfaced. These results are often testing how powerful the handset is, and the alleged single core and multi core results on the Geekbench site noticed that the Mi 6 will be powerful device.
According to this result, the Mi 6 will have a latest Snapdragon 835 chipset, alongside Adreno 540 GPU and 6GB of RAM. It is also running on the latest flavour of Android, v.7.1.1, Nougat under the MIUI skin.
On Geekbench, the Xiaomi Mi 6 has scored 2006 points in the single-core test. In the multi-core test, the phone has scored 6438 points on v.4.0.4 for Android. The scores look impressive, but there could be several factors that may have helped the Mi 6 to record such scores. The Galaxy S8 scored 1916 and 6011 in single-core and multi-core results respectively, and the Galaxy S8+ scored 1929 and 6084 in single-core and multi-core results respectively. It indicates Mi 6 will be powerful device depends on the final product.
This disparity in scores could be attributed to the fact that Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus do not feature Quad HD (1440 × 2560) panel instead going for HD panel(1080 × 1920).
This could be the presence of lower clocked Snapdragon 835 chipset, can reach the highest speed of up to 2.45 GHz, but the test device featuring the chipset will be 1.9 GHz.
Xiaomi Mi 6's hardware specification and price have already been leaked. It will be the first handset to launch Snapdragon 835 SoC after the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone line. Now the device is ready t launch on April 19th in Beijing.
Mi 6 with 4 GB of RAM extend up to 64 GB storage and 4 GB extends up to 128 GB storage variants priced at Yuan 2,199(roughly Rs. 20,500) and Yuan 2,599 (roughly Rs. 24,300) respectively. The Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus is pegged to feature 6 GB of RAM for its storage variants like 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB, these variants are speculated to cost 2,699 Yuan (roughly Rs.25,000), 3,099 Yuan (roughly Rs.28,990) and 3,699 Yuan (roughly Rs. 34,600), respectively. The company didn't mention final release date of worldwide roll out.
