On Wednesday, Motorola debuted its new logo. Now the Chinese tech company Lenovo-owned Motorola is the third largest smartphone maker in the world. And the company will operate Motorola as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
The headquarters of Motorola is in Chicago, with the completion of the acquisition, Lenovo adds a new portfolio company with nearly 3,500 employees around the world, including the 2,800 employees who are in the department of design, engineer, sell and support division.
Yang Yuanqing, the CEO and chairman of the Lenovo company said that "Today we achieved a historic milestone for Lenovo and for Motorola – and together we are ready to compete, grow and win in the global smartphone market. By building a strong number three and a credible challenger to the top two in smartphones, we will give the market something it has needed: choice, competition and a new spark of innovation".
Both the Motorola and Lenovo partnership are quite fit because the Lenovo has a perfect strategy, global scale excellence, and the proven operational functions, whereas Motorola has a great carrier relationship, an iconic brand, and strong IP portfolio, the brand will be mostly popular in U.S. surely it will make a huge hit in the market.
Google CEO said, “Motorola is in great hands with Lenovo, a company that’s all-in on making great devices”. Finally the title 'Moto by Lenovo' and reusing the Motorola's own branding.
Motorola is set to debut several new smartphones later this holiday, but they have not announced any news about the device. Definitely, high-end smartphone Moto X compete for the other top brands and roll out in the globe.
