Official Teasers

Warner Bros. and Max have released two teasers for Dune. The first teaser, released on May 15, gave us a basic glimpse into the show, the cast, and the overall aesthetics, which are not too different from those of the movies. In the closing scenes of the teaser, we can hear Valya Harkonnen, played by Emily Watson, say, "Sisterhood above all."

On July 18, we got a second teaser, and it finally looked more like an official trailer. We see one of the sorcerers say, "The more influence our sisterhood gains, the more enemies we make," before the teaser ends with Watson's chilling words, "Sacrifices must be made."

Episode Guide

The first season will consist of six episodes, and we have the names of the first three so far.

What is Dune: Prophecy Based on?

The novel Sisterhood of Dune, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, is the basis for the prequel. Released in 2012, it serves as the initial installment of the novel's Great Schools of Dune prequel trilogy.

Behind the Scenes

There were a lot of changes and replacements in the team working behind the scenes of the show, mainly due to creative differences and the writers' and actors' strikes. Alison Schapker (known for Lost, Alias, and Fringe) acts as the only showrunner as well as an executive producer of the show. Diane Ademu-John (The Haunting of Bly Manor) co-developed the show and is an executive producer but has since left. Similarly, Johan Renck (Chernobyl) has also left and was replaced by Anna Foerster (Outlander) as the director of at least three episodes. Author Kevin J. Anderson is also a co-producer.
